Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

The Batman: The Dark Knight Returns animation is a two-part adaptation (released 2012 & 2013) of Frank Miller’s acclaimed graphic novel. It depicts an aging Bruce Wayne (voiced by Peter Weller) coming out of retirement to resume his role as Batman in a dark, dystopian future Gotham. He confronts new threats like the Mutants, old foes, and ultimately faces off against Superman under government orders.
