مجموعه فیلم های پدرخوانده The Godfather در اصل یک رمان (۱۹۶۹) اثر ماریو پوزو است که داستان خانوادهٔ مافیایی کورلئونه را در نیویورک روایت می‌کند. این رمان منجر به ساخت یک مجموعه فیلم سه قسمتی به کارگردانی فرانسیس فورد کاپولا شامل The Godfather (۱۹۷۲)، The Godfather Part II (۱۹۷۴) و The Godfather Part III (۱۹۹۰) شد. همچنین یک نسخهٔ بازتدوین‌شده از قسمت سوم با عنوان The Godfather Coda (۲۰۲۰) نیز منتشر شده است. علاوه بر فیلم‌ها، چندین رمان دنباله و پیش‌درآمد نیز بر اساس این دنیا نوشته شده است. این مجموعه به خاطر داستان‌گویی قوی و شخصیت‌های پیچیده‌اش بسیار تحسین شده است.

“The Godfather” is originally a novel (1969) by Mario Puzo that tells the story of the Corleone Mafia family in New York. The novel led to a three-part film series directed by Francis Ford Coppola, including The Godfather (1972), The Godfather Part II (1974), and The Godfather Part III (1990). A recut version of the third film, titled The Godfather Coda (2020), has also been released. In addition to the films, several sequel and prequel novels have been written based on this world. The series is highly acclaimed for its powerful storytelling and complex characters.
